What is the maintenance procedure for an air compressor?
Factories tend to carefully compare and screen when purchasing air compressors. However, after the air compressor arrives at the factory, they rarely care about the operation of the equipment. Maintenance is done by factory masters because these personnel lack the necessary professional knowledge. And relevant experience, improper maintenance of air compressors may cause a lot of trouble to the factory. Let’s take a brief look at what the regular air compressor maintenance process should be.
- Maintenance cycle
The oil filter element and lubricating oil of a new screw air compressor unit are generally replaced after 500 hours of operation. The purpose is very simple, to remove iron filings and other impurities in the new unit to ensure the normal running-in of the unit. In the future, depending on the environment, the lubricating oil, air filter, oil filter and oil separator will be replaced every 2500-3000 hours. If the environment is relatively clean, the time can be appropriately extended; if the environment is poor, the time can be appropriately shortened. In air compressor maintenance, the quality of accessories is the most critical. The quality of accessories directly affects the operation of the unit. It is recommended that you choose accessories with stable quality. Products that are too low have no quality guarantee, resulting in lack of oil in the machine head and high temperature damage to the bearings. In severe cases, the host may be scrapped.
- Maintenance process
- Turn on the machine and check whether the unit is running normally. After normal pre-rotation, stop the machine and prepare for maintenance.
- Stop the machine, cut off the power, and start to maintain the unit based on the principle of first difficult and then easy. Take out all the accessories that need to be replaced, compare the sizes, and after confirming that they are the same, start to disassemble the unit and replace the screws of the accessories.
- There is a built-in oil separator. Make sure the pad on the oil separator cover is clean, add lubricating oil, put the oil separator in place, replace the oil separator cover, and tighten the screws diagonally.
- The oil filter must be tightened with an oil filter wrench to ensure no oil dripping or leaking. Wipe the air filter housing quickly, install a clean air filter, and tighten it. Make sure the left and right screws are tightened and check again.
- Turn on the power, start the machine for a test run, and observe the oil level and each pipeline interface to see if there is any air or oil leakage. Conduct an overall test run for 10-20 minutes to ensure that the unit is normal, and then clean the oil and accessories. In this way, a complete set of air compressor maintenance procedures is completed.
